Program Director School Based Early Support

Department: Prevention and Care Coordination
Location: Bronx, NY

The Family Counseling for School Success Program is a new program providing counseling and case management services to families connected with PS/MS15, PS291, PS 246 or who live within school district 10. The Program Director is responsible for all aspects of the program ensuring that staff receives the training and supervision to ensure all families receive high quality services. The Program Director will meet with school leadership on a regular basis for successful partnership and implementation of the program.

  • Hours: 35 hours, exempt
  • Salary:
    • MSW - $78,878 - $87,975
    • LMSW - $81,878 - $90,975
    • LCSW - $84,878 - $93,975

Major Duties:

Program Support

  • Provide quality weekly supervision to Supervisors to support their professional development.
  • Conduct quality supervision on a regular basis to Administrative Assistant.
  • Partner with Supervisor, with input from each school, to develop and sustain a mechanism to receive referrals.
  • Trained in Triple P curriculum.
  • Ensure Triple P groups are held three times a year.
  • Innovate and create in partnership with the school, activities and services to help families thrive.
  • Introduce and implement all ACS mandates in alignment with GSS mission, vision, and values.
  • Participate in all crisis issues, especially related incidents with the State Central Registry.
  • Assess training needs for all staff within the program.
  • Consult with GSS training department to ensure training needs are met for the program.
  • Serve as a “cultural carrier” for the advancement of Solution Based Casework
  • Lead the implementation and integration of the Solution Based Casework model: assessment, family and individual level outcomes, action plans and documentation and celebration.
  • Provide regular coaching to supervisors to ensure staff are adhering to the tenets of SBC.
  • Participate in continued SBC training, coaching and the SBC certification process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Administrative Duties

  • Actively participate in SBES Implementation Team meetings.
  • Partner with GSS internal Impact & Evaluation department to solicit ongoing feedback from family and school to improve program.
  • Ensure all ACS and Quality Assurance mandates are met.
  • Prepare monthly statistical information in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate staff meetings monthly, at minimum.
  • Actively participate in ACS, GSS and school meetings.
  • Complete all required ACS and GSS trainings.
  • Actively hire for all open program positions with input from participants and school personnel.

Administrative Duties with Partnership Schools

  • Meet with each school regularly to assess ongoing partnership between the program and the school.
  • Ensure ongoing collaborative participation in school leadership meetings at PS/MS 15, PS 291 and PS246.
  • In partnership with the Impact & Evaluation Department, create mechanisms to solicit family input to co-create and host at least 4 family events each year.
  • Attend critical school events and activities.
  • Collaborate with GSS programs that operate within the schools.
  • Meet regularly with district 10 leadership.

Qualifications:

  • MSW (or related degree) plus 5 years administrative experience required. (LMSW/LCSW is preferred).
  • Must have 3 years supervisory experience.
  • Must have excellent leadership, organizational, written, and communication skills.
  • Must be available to work occasional early mornings and evenings to accommodate school and program events.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Connections a plus.
  • Must have a commitment to work from a strength based, anti-racist, and youth and family development perspective.
